She's A Diva BJ Signature Tag Tutorial

She's A Diva BJ Signature Tag Tutorial

This Tutorial was done in Photoshop CS2 and is by Jaimi Standifird AKA Digital Sophistication HERE

Tube (image) used in this tutorial is by Barbara Jensen and can be found HERE

Scrap Kit used is called 'She's A Diva' by Angels Designz and can be found HERE

-Refer back to the finished signature tag for a visual on where things have been placed and how things look.

-When adding a drop shadow throughout this tutorial, you'll go to Layer - Layer Style - Drop shadow and set the opacity to 30%. You of course can increase or decrease this but for me 30% works. You dont want to over-do it.

-When sizing or rotating a layer, make sure that when your 'Move Tool' is selected, that 'Show Transform Controls' is selected in the tool bar and you hit enter when finished.

-Make sure that while you're working, your main file is set to 'Fit on Screen' so you can see the entire space you're working in. To do this, go to View - Fit on Screen.

First let's start by creating a 'New' file. Go to File - New and make sure the following is set; file name is She's A Diva, width is set to 1000 pixels, height is set to 1000 pixels, resolution is set to 300 pixels/inch, the color mode set to RGB color and 8 bit with a transparent background. Click 'Ok' when finished.

Open up the tube (image) you are going to be using along with the following files from the 'She's A Diva' Scrap Kit; AD_Wordart, AD_Bling2, AD_String2, AD_TallCandle, AD_Candle, and AD_GlitterButterfly2. Minimize them down to your bottom tray so that they are not in your way while you are working in your main file creating your signature tag.

Maximize the AD_Wordart file then click, hold and drag to the She's A Diva file and center it. In your Layers Box (off to the right of your screen) double click on the text in this layer and rename this layer 'Wordart' then hit enter. Minimize the original wordart file back down. We aren't closing anything as we dont know if we ever have to go back to fix or re-do something. This keeps us from having to go find the file and re-open it.

Maximize your tube (image) file then click, hold and drag to the center of your wordart layer. In your layers box, rename this layer 'Tube' then hit enter. Make sure this layer is above the wordart layer. If it is below the wordart layer then click, hold and drag to place it above the wordart layer. Add your drop shadow to this layer, then minimize the original tube file back down. Go to File - Save As and save your file as 'She's A Diva' with the format set to 'Photoshop (PSD,PDD)'. Saving it as a Photoshop file like this will keep you from having to go back and re-do the entire signature tag incase something happens. We will also be saving our work here and there throughout this tutorial.

Maximize AD_Bling2 then click, hold and drag to the She's A DIva file centering it. You can leave it as is or you can increase or decrease the size as well as rotate this layer. I left its size but I rotated it to my liking, which was rotating it all the way around. Add your drop shadow and in the layers box, make sure this layer is below the Tube and Wordart layers and rename this layer 'Bling'. Minimize the original bling file back down.

Maximize the AD-String2 file then click, hold and drag to the She's A Diva file, placing it a the bottom of you signature tag. Add your drop shadow, rename this layer 'String' and make sure to place this layer above all other layers if it isnt already. Go to File - Save, to save your work. Minimize the original string file back down.

Maximize the AD_TallCandle file then click, hold and drag to the She's A Diva file placing it off to the bottom left corner. Size this layer down to your liking and then add your drop shadow to it. In the Layers Box rename this layer 'Candle' and make sure it is below the String file. Do the same thing for the AD_Candle file but rename this layer 'Candle2' and size it smaller then the 1st candle. Go to File - Save, to save your work. Minimize the original candle files back down.

Maximize the AD_GlitterButterfly2 file then click, hold and drag to the She's A Diva file placing it in the top right corner. Size this layer down to your liking and rotate to your liking. Set your drop shadow and in the Layers Box, rename this layer 'Butterfly'. If you want this layer above all other layers then make sure your butterfly layer is above all other layers. Repeat this entire step to add a second butterfly, but place it in the bottom left corner and rename this layer 'Butterfly2'. Go to File - Save, to save your work. Minimize the original butterfly files back down.

Select the 'Text Tool' and click in an empty space in your She's A Diva file. Make sure the font color is set to black (you can change it later if you'd like) so you can see what you are typing. To change the color, size and font highlight the text then choose the color, size and font you wish to use. You will type out the copyright information and license information (if required) for your tube (image). Make sure all copyright and license information is correct and legible. You can place this text wherever you'd like to. I placed mine on the right hand side. I did of course rotate it so it would fit in place. The font I used was Sylfaen at size 6, while I also sized it down a bit as well with my Move Tool. Remember that whenever you need to size up or down or rotate, your Move Tool needs to be selected in order to do so. Go to File - Save, to save your work.

Select your 'Crop Tool' and cut out all the empty space around the signature tag you just created. Double click your mouse or hit enter for the crop to take effect.

Go to Image - Image Size. Make sure that 'Scale Styles' and 'Constrain Proportions' are both selected and set your width or height to 450 pixels. When you enter just the width or height, the other will resize itself automatically. Click 'Ok' when finished.

Go to File - Save As and now save your file as a JPEG or PNG file. I myself will save it as a JPEG and PNG file so that I have the option of using either version. Saving it as a PNG will keep it's transparent background while saving as a JPEG will add a white background to it. You can of course rename the file or keep it as She's A Diva.

You may add a name or greeting to your signature tag now or come back and do it later on. I of course added a name to mine using the font 'FreeStyle Script' and placed it in the top left corner.
